Safety Awareness

We Care About Safety!     Safety First

The safety of both you and our employees is of the utmost importance to us. In consideration of any possible dangers, we at Touch of Freedom have implemented the following policies and procedures:

Is Touch of Freedom Bonded and Insured?  Yes!

Who Cleans My Home?  We promise to carefully select our employees through a detailed interview process, reference checks and  50-state criminal background checks.  Our employees also sign a consent form for random drug screenings.  If you have any safety concerns involving one of our employees, please contact us immediately and we will work toward a resolution.

Are Your Products Safe For My Family and Pets?  Yes, we at Touch of Freedom are committed to minimizing the use of harsh chemicals, creating a healthier environment for your family and our employees, as well as being environmentally conscious.  Our cleaning solutions are composed of natural ingredients with essential oils for added antimicrobial and aromatherapy properties.  We also utilize microfiber cloths to aid in disinfection while limiting waste.  Please refer to our Aromatherapy Page for further details concerning the benefits of using essential oils.

If a client requests that we use a different product, Touch of Freedom will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur through the use of the requested product.

Pets   Sometimes pets can become uneasy with new people in their home. If your family pet has a known tendency to become territorial, or if your pet is afraid of vacuums, we ask that they be placed in a confined area that is separate from where we are working. We understand that your pet is a member of your family and want to ensure that both their comfort as well as our employees’ safety is considered. Also, please note that the cleaning of litter boxes and dog kennels is not part of our cleaning visit.

Infection/Disease Control We are unable to clean up vomit, blood, urine or excrement. Please remove linens (if child has wet the bed) before we arrive. We will replace the clean linen if they have been set out for us.

Insect Infestation may prevent us from completely cleaning your home.  If ants, termites, roaches, fleas, etc., are encountered, we will not clean or vacuum the area.  Our cleaning technicians will leave a note or call regarding the problem.

Cross Contamination:  Touch of Freedom prefers not to use the same vacuum and broom amongst numerous homes.  In case of insect infestation, pet spraying or urination, etc, it is more hygienic for our cleaning teams to use your personal vacuum and broom.  It also cuts down on the amount of lifting for our staff, reducing both their risk of injury as well as the amount of time it takes for them to bring supplies into your home.

Firearms  For the protection of both you and our employees, we ask that any firearms be stored and locked away prior to our cleaning your home. Please do not leave firearms under pillows or mattresses as they pose a danger when we are changing bed linens.

Risk of Injury  Our employees are strictly prohibited from climbing higher than a 2-step ladder. Also, to decrease the risk of injury to employees, we are unable to move heavy objects, flip mattresses, etc. Please contact us with any “heavy” moving requests and we will make reasonable efforts to organize help for you to meet this need.

Injuries in Your Home   Our employees are covered by Workers’ Compensation Insurance. This covers the employee’s injuries and protects you.

Every effort is made to work safely and cautiously and we cannot assume liability for injury to others. We kindly ask that you, your children, and pets remain out of the rooms that we are cleaning in order to prevent safety hazards (tripping over buckets, caddies, vacuum cords, etc.).
